Whether you were looking for our site, or you have just stumbled across us, welcome to the Gibsons’ corner of the web.
But why the name
“grass Mats & Baobabs”? you may be asking.
If I were to describe the baobab tree, I would suggest it looked like the worst case of arthritis amongst plant life known to man, with its swollen trunk and disfigured limbs as they droop downwards with a seeming desire to joint their subterranean relations -- the roots. Where as others have suggested that the baobab looks like it has been picked out of the ground and stuffed back in upside-down.
Now apart from us sometimes feeling how the baobab looks there is no real deep significance in the title only that “Grass mats & Baobabs” make up part of the surroundings we live and work in in the north of Burkina Faso.
We hope you enjoy our web site.

This little chap it about the size of a finger nail and is nicknamed, by our children, as a Teddy Bug due to its red fury texture. It tends to only come out during rainy season here in Burkina. If anyone has its proper name we would all appreciate it.
